Fall 2016 Unforgettable Events by Sasha Aleksandra Chernysheva

The typical definition of school doesn’t always apply, especially at a boarding school. We are used to defining school as a place that challenges us. School subconsciously becomes an obstacle and a tiresome kind of work in our mind, however, we forget that this is not true at all. School actually can be a fun and an appealing activity, which the majority of CATS students have confidently proven. Here are some of the most exciting trips we have taken this semester.

Fun Things to Do in Boston! by Valentina Campos de Barros Gordilho

There are weekends that I just don’t know what to do anymore. I can barely tolerate going to the South Shore Plaza or going to Boston just to walk around. These have become as boring as staying in the dorms on the weekend. Thinking about this struggle, I decided to make a list of both tourist and non-tourist things to do in the city. Most of this research is from websites and by word of mouth, since I am still exploring the city. After spending the whole semester here, I can only say that I know things to do around Newbury Street and the Boston Common. Here are some well-known activities to do in Boston:

The CATS Effect on Homesickness by Anna Merzlyakova

Nothing is as special as the feeling you experience when your heart starts beating, when your breath stops for a millisecond, and when your eyes widen from the amazement. It’s the feeling when you smile and at the same time feel nervous about the unknown. You probably think that something should have changed and you still can’t understand what. This is the feeling of returning home. The pleasure of it is indescribable! Only then, when you come home you realize that you overcame homesickness and that you were strong enough to stay and fight it there and now you came home with a victory.
